Closings set for New Year

THE FREESTONE COUNTY courthouse in downtown Fairfield is lit up for the holidays as an annual project of Fairfield Main Street. In addition to the courthouse square, downtown buildings are outlined in white lights.
- Closings are slated early next week for offices and business in Fairfield in observance of the new year, and students continue to enjoy their winter break.
County and city offices, banks and the post office are closed Tuesday for New Year's Day, and open for regular business hours Wednesday.
Students at Dew, Fairfield and Wortham schools return to class Thursday, January 7, and Teague students return Thursday, January 3.
The Fairfield Recorder office will close Tuesday for New Year's and advertising and news deadlines are at 5 p.m. on Friday.
