Family fun run set Saturday

THE FREESTONE COUNTY 4-H Shotgun Team competed in the second annual Montgomery County 4-H Shotgun Invitational in Conroe on Saturday. Team members placing at the event were: l - r, Zach Gauntt, first in 5-stand, third in trap and third in skeet in the junior division; Keil Meredith, first in trap in the intermediate division; Zane Robinson, fifth in skeet in the intermediate division; and Ty McAdams, sixth in 5-stand in the intermediate division.
- The physical education department at Fairfield Independent School District encourages entries for the PE Warrior Family Fun Run this Saturday.
The event is being held in conjunction with the East Texas Medical Center annual health fair.
Families and individuals run either one kilometer or five kilometers on the FISD cross country track located behind the baseball complex on Post Oak Road.
A children’s fun run of one kilometer is at 8:30 a.m. and the 5-K run is at 9 a.m..
Cost to enter is $10 for an individual, or first family member, and $8 for each additional family member.
Each preregistered participant receives a T-shirt.
Awards are to be given the top three finishers in each age group, and the overall male and female runners receive a Lott Physical Therapy and Fitness Center gift bag and 1-month free gym membership.
After race snacks and drinks will be available.
Family fun run entry forms are available on the FISD web site.

FISD also is hosting a blood drive with Carter Bloodcare from 8 a.m.-noon at the cross country course.
