Vehicles judged at Show of Wheels

THIS 1970 PLYMOUTH Roadrunner from the height of the muscle car era draws a couple of fans.
- Cars, trucks and motorcycles painted every color under the rainbow, and many sporting extensive modifications, lined up Saturday around the courthouse square for the annual Fairfield Show of Wheels.
The event, which is 10 years old, was hosted for the first time this year by the chamber of commerce.
Sponsors were Bossier Country, Enbridge, Luminant and Community National Bank and Trust of Texas.
Top winner in the show was a red, modified 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air owned by Bill Green that was awarded Best of Show, Fan Favorite, Best Paint, Best Interior and Best Engine.
The Fan Favorite Truck and Overall Fan Favorite was a modified 1971 Chevrolet pickup owned by James Tijerina of Buffalo.
A 1981 Chevrolet Camaro owned by Charles Phillips of Fairfield was selected as Fan Favorite Street Rod.
Fan Favorite Motorcycle was a 2006 Harley-Davidson owned by Scott Issacs of Fairfield.
At total of 72 cars, trucks and motorcycles were judged in 22 categories. Tops in the classes were:
Class I—pre 1950 original car—1, Albert Lehman and Bob Gerhard of Richland, 1931 Ford Model A.
Class II—1936-50 original car—1, Gordan Small of Fairfield, 1938 Buick.
Class III—1951-64 original car—1, Faye Sims of Mexia, 1961 Chevrolet Corvette convertible; 2, Dwight and Pat Cherry of Wortham, 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air.
Class IV—1965-89 original car—1, Steven Schulte of Wortham, 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner; 2, Naomi Reid of Teague, 1969 Ford Mustang convertible.
Class VI—1, 1936-50 modified car—1, James and Frankie McCoslin of Groesbeck, 1938 Ford 5-window coupe, 2, Paul Smith of Conroe, 1940 Chevrolet business coupe.
Class VII—1951-64 modified car—Bill Green of Fairfield, 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air; 2, Andy Jones of Fairfield, 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air.
Class VIII—1965-89 modified car—1, R.D. Quinn of Fairfield, 1968 Chevrolet Camaro; 2, Ernest Wacha of Palestine, 1969 Chevrolet Camaro.
Class IX—1990-forward modified car—1, Dwight and Pat Cherry of Wortham, 2007 Ford Shelby GT Mustang; 2, Jamie Smith of Palestine, 2007 Ford Mustang.
Class XI—1951-69 modified truck—1, Gary Nunley of Buffalo, 1966 Chevrolet.
Class XII—1970-89 modified truck—1, James Tijerina of Buffalo, 1971 Chevrolet; 2, Scott and Kim Halley of Fairfield, 1971 Ford Bronco.
Class XIII—1930-50 original truck—1, Gene McKeever of Fairfield, 1931 Ford; 2, Floyd Pyles of Fairfield, 1930 Chevrolet 1-ton.
Class XIV—1951-69 original truck—1, James Reid of Teague, 1963 Ford.
Class XV—1970-89 original truck—1, Jimmy and Reba Davis of Jewett, 1971 Chevrolet Blazer; 2, Brenda Finley of Fairfield, 1981 Chevrolet El Camino.
Class XVI—1990-forward original or modified truck—1, Richard A. Cain, Jr., of Fairfield, 2007 Chevrolet 4-door Z71; 2, Ryan Pyles of Fairfield, 1998 GMC Sonoma.
Class XVII—street rod coupe—1, David Eddy of Fairfield, 1923 Ford T-bucket; 2, Charles Smith of Donie, 1938 Chevrolet.
Class XVIII—street rod sedan—1, Pam and Muggs Smith of Temple, 1937 Plymouth; 2, Ray Stuart of Streetman, 1979 Chevrolet Corvette.
Class XIX—open top street rod—1, Andy Bonner of Fairfield, 1923 Ford T-bucket.
Class XX—under construction—1, B.J. Eppes of Donie, 1956 Ford 2-door hardtop; 2, Tim Rodgers of Fairfield, 1981 Chevrolet Camaro.
Class XXI—custom motorcycle—1, Larry Battles of Corsicana, 1992 Harley-Davidson Springer; 2, Shirley Mays of Streetman, 2008 Honda Trike.
Class XXII—stock motorcycle—1, Richard A. Cain, Jr., of Fairfield, 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa 65X1300 R; 2, Richard A. Cain III of Fairfield, 2008 Kawasaki 2X250R Ninja.
