Sales tax revenue this year is $1.17 million, compared to $1.03 million for the first half of 2007. Fairfield receives $202,054 this month, up 26.41 percent from the $159,832 received a year ago. The June check reflects sales taxes collected in April and reported to the state comptroller in May. The comptroller sends checks to cities each month as their portion of sales tax proceeds. June check to the City of Teague is $42,147, up 68.29 percent from the $25,044 reimbursement last June. For the year, payments to Teague have increased 19.74 percent, from $220,870 to $264,491. The City of Wortham is reimbursed $6,846 this month, a 76.66 percent drop from the $29,345 received last June. Payments this year are down 28.68 percent, from $81,672 to $58,243. Streetman receives a check for $1,412 this month, up 64.65 percent from the June 2007 payment of $857. For the year, payments to Streetman have increased 43.22 percent, from $6,797 to $9,735. |
