12 under wins senior scramble

- A low score of 12 strokes under par captured first place honors in the weekly senior golf scramble at Big Cedar Country Club.
The event featured 22 players divided into six teams. Groups with just three players were allowed an extra putt and an extra chip with shots rotated among members.
Format was to play the best drive in a group then for each member to play their ball through the hole, recording the best two scores.
Playing on the first place team were Paul Luna, Mel Segraves and Tom Donaldson.
Finishing second with an 11-under score was the foursome of Don Carroll, Ron Jantzen, Ramond Lucher and Less Hobbs.
Finishing third at 10 under par was the team of Ken McLerran, Louie Masters and Boomer Johnson.
The senior scramble, for golfers who are at least 50 years old, is played at 9 a.m. each Wednesday at Big Cedar. Players must register in advance with the pro shop.
