- Earl Bradford Fails

Funeral services were held last weekend for Earl Bradford Fails, 70, of Troup who dies Tuesday, Dec. 18 in Tyler.
Mr. Fails was born in Freestone county on Oct. 13, 1937 and worked as a tool and die maker.
He was a member of Mixon Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Services were held Saturday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. in Jacksonville with Rev. Douglas Cummins and Rev. Joe Ballard officiating.
Burial was at the Mixon Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Darren Partin, Aaron Laube, Eddie Paslay, Dennis Partin, Vernon Ray Fails, Jr. and Joe Edd Partin, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Huckabee, Robert Fails and Larry Massey.
Mr. Fails is survived by wife Patty Sherian Fails of Mixon; daughter Pamela Earlene Staples of Denton, Annecye' Fae Beasley and husband John of Mixon, Julie Allison Bartton and husband Pat of Mixon, and Amy Camille Huckabee and husband Kevin of Mixon; grandchildren Jennifer Huckabee, Amande' Morse, Lyndsey Fabinski, Chancie Petty, Kendal Huckabee and AnTonya Bartton; great grandchildren Lauren Morse, Justin Kye Petty and Grasen Morse; brothers Vernon and Toby Fails, both of Fairfield; and sisters Gertrude Paslay, Linda Sliger and husband Kemp of Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by grandsons Billy Earl Crutsinger and William Jack Fails; daughter Tonya LeAnne Partin; brothers Carl and Jim Billy Fails; and parents William and Laura Fails.

Emris Merlin Gray

Funeral services were held last weekend for Emris Merlin Gray, 86, of Teague who died Tuesday, Dec. 18.
Mr. Gray was a charter member of Uvalde Baptist Church and currently a member at the first Baptist Church of Teague.
He was a life endowed member and past master of C.A. Fortner Lodge #1304, A.F. and F.M., past master of Teague Lodge #256, A.F. and F.M. and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Services were held in Houston at San Jacinto Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 9 a.m.
Burial was at San Jacinto Memorial Park.
Mr. Gray is survived by daughter Donna Watkins and husband David; sons Leon Gray and wife Connie and Leslie Gray and wife Beverly; seven granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
He is preceded in death by his wife Ira Ernestine Gray; great granddaughter Leslie Belle Lawson; his parents; four brothers; and one sister.
